Our Local Area.

The Yorke Peninsula is known for its breathtaking landscapes and unique country. Below are just some of the amazing lesser-known things you can organise to do in and around our local area.

Aboriginal Cultural Tours

Aboriginal Cultural Tours (South Australia) offers authentic Aboriginal experiences led by knowledgeable Aboriginal guides, who live on Country, know their Country and care about their Country. Based out of Point Pearce Aboriginal Community they offer a range of Coastal Tours or you can combine with other tours in other locations.

Deckie for a Day

Get that farm fresh feeling as you feast on Oysters right from the water in Oyster Bay. Join Pacific Estate Oysters on their unique Deckie for A Day experience as you learn about how they grow, about regionality and the importance of our hands on sustainable farming system. Departing from the Stansbury Jetty. Bookings must be made in advance.

Water Mural Trail

The Southen Yorke Peninsula Water Tower Mural Trail is a 60 km self-drive tour leading past five incredible murals that celebrate our local area, its history, flora and fauna. Start from our very own in Stansbury, painted by Mike Makatron and Conrad Bizjak, before heading off to see them in Port Vincent, Stansbury, Coobowie, Edithburgh and Yorketown.

Walk the Yorke

Walk the Yorke is a collection of walking trails with spectacular coastal and agricultural scenery which follows the coastline of the Yorke Peninsula. The ultimate in reconnecting with nature, there are shorter walks for a couple of hours and multi-day walks. Click on the picture for more information.
PS. At the end of your long day of walking, Olives has you covered with Epsom salts and a soaking bath to ease the weary feet.

Dhilba Guuranda
Innes National Park

Innes is one of South Australia’s best National Parks (in our opinion anyway) . Visit one of the lighthouses and the shipwreck of the Ethel to learn about the tumultuous maritime history of South Australia. Explore the historic abandoned township of Inneston surrounded by native bushland. Plus you can enjoy bushwalking, surfing (some great breaks), fishing and more.

Stansbury Seaside Markets

The Stansbury Seaside Markets are held on various Saturday mornings along the foreshore of Stansbury between October and April each year. Market stalls include everything from locally made food, gifts, artwork, home decor, plants, jewellery and so much more.
